Use a custom domain
Serve your status page from a domain you own, such as status.yourcompany.test, with HTTPS included.
Custom domains are available on the Team and Business plans. Navy issues and renews the certificate for you.
Add the domain
- Open your status page and go to Settings, then Domain.
- Enter the domain you want to use, for example status.yourcompany.test.
- Navy shows the DNS record you need to add.
Update your DNS
In your DNS provider, create a CNAME record that points your status subdomain to the target shown in Navy. Changes usually take a few minutes, but can take up to an hour.
Verify
Back in Navy, click Verify. Once the record is found, Navy issues a certificate and the domain shows as active. Your old navy.test address keeps working and redirects to the new domain.
Troubleshooting
- Verification fails: Make sure there is no other record, such as an A record, on the same name.
- Certificate pending: If you use a proxy in front of your domain, turn it off until the certificate is issued.
